I think there was meant to be a bit of a romantic/flirty element to it, but it does feel like it was a relationship where physical intimacy being impossible would not actually have been a problem for them, so it wasn't really something the third game needed to 'fix'.
On the other hand I ported my shep into 2 and SHE ACTUALLY LOOKS THE SAME FOR ONCE I rarely go into the field, motherfucker.ĭang, I'm a bit disappointed you don't get any of the dlc headgear or the blood dragon armor or the dlc guns (or was that me3?) in me2. It was just an excuse to give Seth Green more comedic banter while playing into the trilogy's greater theme that the divide between organic and synthetic life can be crossed with mutual cooperation and respect. That it happens in ME3 though when the whole feel of the narrative is so much more serious and dire makes the whole thing come off as juvenile.Īlso a lesser problem is that EDI and Joker's relationship in ME2 never came off to me like it was meant to be a love story. If EDI had been introduced as sexy robot lady party member in ME1 it would have fit in better with the pulpy sci-fi feel and most probably wouldn't have much more to say about it than they do about the Asari playing the blue alien space babe trope so straight.
